PESHAWAR: Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to intensify their counterterrorism operations against Indian-sponsored terrorist groups. During a visit to the Corps Headquarters in Peshawar on Friday, Munir emphasized the military’s resolve to ‘hit them hard wherever they are.’

Munir’s remarks came after a comprehensive briefing on the security landscape, ongoing counterterrorism initiatives, and border management strategies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The military’s media wing, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), reported that he commended the professionalism and morale of the troops, urging them to maintain vigilance and operational readiness to effectively counter emerging threats.

This declaration underscores the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India, particularly regarding cross-border terrorism. Munir’s commitment to a robust military response reflects the broader implications for regional security and the potential for escalated military engagements, which could affect civilian safety and international relations.

Looking ahead, the military is expected to continue its operations in coordination with local law enforcement agencies, focusing on intelligence-driven strategies to dismantle terrorist networks. The situation remains fluid, and further developments are anticipated as the armed forces adapt to evolving threats.
