Rawalpindi/Murree: District Police Officer (DPO) Murree, Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanvir, has finalized a comprehensive security plan and issued a travel advisory to maintain law and order while facilitating tourists during Muharram-ul-Haram.

In a video message on Sunday, the DPO stated that the main procession of 10th Muharram will begin from the central Imambargah in Lower Bazar at its scheduled time and will pass through Mall Road before concluding peacefully at the same location.

He said that to ensure foolproof security, general traffic and tourist movement will remain restricted on Murree Mall Road and adjoining areas on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

The DPO urged tourists planning to visit the hill station to strictly follow the travel advisory to avoid inconvenience. He clarified that apart from designated security zones on Mall Road, all other tourist destinations and recreational spots in Murree will remain open to the public.

Visitors, he said, can freely travel to alternative locations, while Murree Police will remain on high alert to assist #and maintain security round the clock.

Dr Muhammad Raza Tanvir also encouraged residents and tourists to download the Murree Police official mobile application, “Safe Tourism Murree,” which provides live traffic updates, alternative routes, and security information for public convenience.
