PMD Warning: Heavy Showers Likely Across Punjab

Lahore: A fresh spell of monsoon rains has entered Punjab, prompting weather authorities and disaster management agencies to activate precautionary measures across the province.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain of varying intensity in several districts, with chances of heavy downpours in parts of Punjab. Residents have been advised to remain cautious as weather conditions continue to change.
In Lahore, partly cloudy skies are expected throughout the day, with chances of light rain after noon. Temperatures are likely to remain high, with the minimum forecast at 31°C and the maximum reaching around 39°C.
The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued alerts to district administrations, directing officials to ensure preparedness in low-lying and vulnerable areas to deal with any possible urban flooding or emergency situations.
The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore has also placed operational teams on high alert. Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed instructed field staff to remain deployed until rainwater is cleared from roads and affected areas.
