During his visit, Araghchi also met separately with Field Marshal Asim Munir to discuss matters of mutual interest and broader regional developments.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and National Security Adviser Asim Malik were also present at the meeting.
The engagements come at a time when Pakistan is actively positioning itself as a facilitator of dialogue in a tense regional environment. Reiterating this role, Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan continues to support and facilitate dialogue between Iran and the United States, aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s efforts are guided by its broader foreign policy objective of de-escalation through diplomacy. Dar also clarified that only official statements should be considered as reflecting Pakistan’s position, urging media outlets to avoid speculative reporting based on unnamed sources.
