Long March Was Conspiracy Against Economy: PM
News Desk
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has asserted that the recent long march was a calculated conspiracy aimed at undermining the country’s improving economy.
During a meeting with a delegation from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), led by Federal Minister for Education Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Sharif emphasized the detrimental impact of such political maneuvers on national progress.
Sharif’s remarks come amid ongoing political tensions in Pakistan, where opposition parties have been mobilizing protests against the government.
He stated, “The long march was not just a political protest; it was an attempt to derail the economic recovery we are witnessing. We must remain vigilant against such tactics that threaten our stability and growth.”
The Prime Minister’s comments highlight the fragile state of Pakistan’s economy, which has been gradually recovering from previous downturns.
Analysts suggest that political unrest could jeopardize recent gains, affecting investor confidence and economic policies aimed at fostering growth.
Looking ahead, the government plans to engage in further discussions with coalition partners to strengthen political alliances and ensure economic stability.
Upcoming meetings are expected to address both economic strategies and the political landscape, as the government seeks to navigate through these challenges.
