Karachi Mayor Announces E-Katcheri to Resolve Local Issues

KARACHI: In a bid to address mounting municipal grievances, Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has announced that he will hold a digital open court, or ‘E-Katcheri’, on September 28 to interact directly with the city’s residents.
The initiative aims to bridge the communication gap between local government authorities and the public, providing a transparent platform for citizens to voice concerns regarding infrastructure, sanitation, water supply, and other municipal challenges directly to the city’s leadership for prompt redressal.
Local governance experts note that direct public outreach mechanisms are vital for improving municipal service delivery in a sprawling metropolis like Karachi, where bureaucratic delays often hinder the swift resolution of everyday civic problems faced by ordinary citizens.
Following the interactive session scheduled for Monday, the local administration is expected to compile the grievances into a prioritized action list, directing relevant municipal departments to resolve highlighted issues within stipulated deadlines.
