ITP announces major diversions on Ataturk Avenue

Islamabad : The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Tuesday issued a comprehensive traffic advisory, announcing road closures and diversion plans on Ataturk Avenue due to ongoing construction work in the federal capital.
According to an ITP official, the stretch from Express Chowk to Ayub Chowk (Agha Khan Road) will remain closed for traffic from March 31, 2026, until completion of the project.
Under the diversion plan, commuters travelling from Jinnah Avenue towards Islamabad Marriott Hotel will be redirected via China Chowk, Press Club Road, Super Market and Agha Khan Road.

Similarly, traffic coming from Khayaban-e-Suhrawardy and Embassy Road towards the Marriott will be routed through Shaheed-e-Millat Road, China Chowk Underpass, Press Club Road and Agha Khan Road.
Motorists travelling from Srinagar Highway towards the Secretariat have been advised to use Serena Chowk, Globe Chowk and Secretariat Chowk as alternative routes.
The official added that commuters from Seventh Avenue can access the Secretariat via Margalla Road and Shahrah-e-Dastoor, while residents of Sector F-6 have been urged to use Seventh Avenue and Margalla Road to avoid inconvenience.
The ITP has appealed to citizens to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure smooth traffic flow during the construction period. APP
