How Much the US Spent on Weapons Against Iran

Washington: A recent media report has highlighted the significant strain placed on the military resources of the United States during its conflict with Iran, citing extensive use of advanced weaponry over a 38-day period.
According to an NDTV report, US forces struck more than 13,000 targets during the war. However, analysts note that the total number of weapons deployed is likely much higher, as several targets were hit multiple times.
Indian media estimates suggest that the US used around 1,100 JASSM-ER missile systems, reportedly close to its existing stockpile, along with more than 1,000 Tomahawk cruise missile units and over 1,200 Patriot missile system interceptors.

The financial cost of the campaign has also drawn attention. Reports indicate total war expenditures ranging between $28 billion and $35 billion, averaging roughly $1 billion per day. In the initial phase alone, weapons worth approximately $5.6 billion were reportedly used within the first two days of operations.
Some analysts cited in Indian media argue that such intensive use of high-value munitions may have reduced US reserve levels, potentially affecting preparedness in the event of future conflicts involving major powers such as China or Russia. They warn that replenishing these advanced systems could take several years at current production rates.
However, US officials have firmly rejected these claims, maintaining that the country retains the world’s most capable military and possesses sufficient stockpiles to meet any operational requirements.
