Dry Weather to Prevail in Most Parts of Country:PMD

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry weather for most parts of the country, with hot conditions expected in southern regions.

However, light rain, accompanied by wind and thunderstorms, is likely in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Waziristan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Potohar region.

The synoptic situation indicates that continental air is prevailing in most parts of the country, with a shallow westerly wave still present in the northern regions.

Over the past 24 hours, rain, wind, and thunderstorms have occurred in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and north Balochistan. The recorded rainfall includes significant amounts in various areas:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa: Malam Jabba 66mm, Dir (Lower 43mm, Upper 17mm), Bacha Khan Airport 36mm, Peshawar (City 32mm, Airport 15mm), Kakul 31mm, Saidu Sharif 28mm, Takh bai 17mm, Cherat 16mm, Mirkhani 11mm, Balakot, Pattan 10mm, Drosh 09mm, Kalam 07mm, DI Khan (Airport) 06mm, Chitral 04mm, Parachinar 03mm.

Kashmir: Muzaffarabad (Airport 42mm, City 35mm), Rawalakot 41mm, Garhi Dupatta 32mm, Kotli 07mm.

Punjab: D.G. Khan 11mm, Sialkot (City) 10mm, Murree 08mm, Attock, Khanpur 06mm, Rawalpindi (Kacheri, Shamsabad 04mm, Chaklala 02mm), Islamabad (Airport, Zero point 03mm, Bokra, Golra 02mm, Saidpur 01mm), Mangla, Multan (Airport) 03mm, Narowal 02mm, Jhelum, Kot Addu 01mm.

Gilgit-Baltistan: Bagrote 06mm.

Balochistan: Zhob 03mm.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded were Jacobabad and Shaheed Benazirabad at 38°C, while Chhor and Mithi reached 37°C.
