Opposition Demands Meeting with Imran Khan to Avoid Long March

News Desk

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader Mahmood Achakzai has stated that the long march planned by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will not be postponed unless Suhail Afridi is allowed to meet with former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

The political landscape remains tense as negotiations between the government and opposition have reached a deadlock.

Achakzai emphasized the urgency of facilitating the meeting, asserting that it is crucial for resolving ongoing political disputes. He expressed frustration over the lack of progress in talks, which have stalled amid rising tensions between the ruling coalition and the opposition parties.

The PTI’s negotiation team is actively engaged in discussions, but no significant breakthroughs have been reported.

This situation poses significant implications for the political climate in Pakistan, as the opposition’s long march could mobilize public sentiment against the government.

Citizens are increasingly concerned about the political instability and its potential impact on governance and economic conditions. The ongoing deadlock could lead to heightened protests and unrest if not addressed promptly.

Looking ahead, both sides are expected to continue negotiations in the coming days, with Achakzai urging the government to reconsider its stance on the meeting with Khan. The outcome of these discussions will be pivotal in determining the future course of political action in Pakistan.
