Cold, Dry Weather Predicted In Most Parts Of Country: PMD

Islamabad: The majority of the country is expected to have cold, dry weather over the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

While extremely chilly conditions are anticipated in the upper parts and north Balochistan. In the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh, dense fog is likely to develop. The Potohar region is likely to experience frost in the early morning hours.

The synoptic condition indicated that continental air dominated over most of the country. The majority of the country saw chilly, dry weather over the past 24 hours, with extremely cold temperatures in the upper parts and north Balochistan. Dense foggy conditions prevailed over plain areas of Punjab.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, four people lost their lives in rain-related accidents in Dera Ismail Khan, according to local authorities.

The Meteorological Department has forecast more rainfall in various parts of the country over the coming days and has advised citizens to take necessary precautions.

Earlier, continuous heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms have brought pleasant weather to several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.

However, the downpour has also caused difficulties for residents, with flooding in rivers and canals, water accumulation on roads, and inundation of low-lying areas reported in multiple regions.

The Meteorological Department has forecast more rainfall over the coming days, stating that the current spell of wet weather is likely to continue until June 20.
