Woman suspected drug peddler arrested

Rawalpindi:  The Pirwadhai police on Thursday arrested a woman suspected drug peddler and seized 1kg of hashish from her possession. The nabbed woman has been identified as Fozia Safdar.

According to a police spokesman, Lady Sub-Inspector of Pirwadhai police conducted a raid and arrested the suspected woman drug peddler.  A case has been registered against the nabbed woman and further investigation was underway till the filing of this report.

Rawalpindi Police have tightened security arrangements at churches across the city on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani.

According to a police spokesperson, senior officers are present in the field to personally monitor security measures, while strict entry protocols, including thorough body searches, are being implemented at church entrances.

The spokesperson said all available resources are being utilized to maintain law and order and ensure the protection of minority rights and places of worship.

CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani stated that visitors attending churches are being provided full security and treated with courtesy by police personnel.

He added that foolproof security arrangements have been put in place to maintain peace and safeguard the rights of the minority community.
