Woman Killed in Islamabad, Husband Escapes After Alleged Attack

Islamabad: A domestic dispute turned deadly in Islamabad’s upscale Sector E-11/2, where a woman was allegedly murdered by her husband inside their apartment before the suspect fled the scene, police said.
The incident occurred in flat number 301 of Karsaz Tower, located within the jurisdiction of Shalimar Police Station. Following the killing, panic spread among residents of the area, while police launched a search operation to arrest the accused.
According to police sources, the victim was identified as Maryam alias Mah Noor, wife of Muzammil and a resident of Khanewal. The couple had been living together in the apartment where the incident took place.
Initial investigations suggest that the husband and wife had been facing domestic disputes for some time. Police said that an argument reportedly broke out between the couple on the day of the incident and later escalated into violence.

Authorities allege that Muzammil attacked his wife with a sharp instrument and slit her throat, causing her death at the scene.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, teams from Shalimar Police Station, the Crime Scene Unit, and forensic experts arrived at the apartment. Police cordoned off the area, collected evidence, and launched investigations from multiple angles.
The victim’s body was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital for legal formalities and postmortem examination.
According to police officials, preliminary evidence points towards domestic discord and marital conflict as the possible motive behind the murder. However, authorities said the final conclusions would depend on forensic findings and the completion of the investigation.
After the incident, the accused allegedly fled the scene. Police said raids are being conducted at various locations to trace and arrest him, while investigators have expanded the search by identifying possible hideouts and contacts.
The tragic incident has left the victim’s family devastated, while residents of the area have expressed shock and concern over the killing.
Police have appealed to the public to share any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect with relevant authorities to assist in his immediate arrest.
