Who Can Get Rs100 Per Liter Petrol Relief?

Islamabad: The Ministry of Information Technology has announced the registration procedure for the government’s petrol relief scheme, under which eligible citizens will receive a discount of Rs. 100 per liter on petrol.
According to the ministry, an automated digital system has been developed with the assistance of NADRA, telecom operators and provincial departments to facilitate registration and verification. Vehicle verification will be carried out through the relevant provincial transport and excise departments.
To register for the scheme, citizens will be required to send an SMS in the prescribed format from a SIM card registered in their own name. The message must contain their CNIC number, vehicle registration number, provincial code and registration date.
After successful registration, applicants will receive a confirmation message on their mobile phones.
Before purchasing petrol, registered beneficiaries will have to send the text “TOK” to 9771. They will then receive a token, which must be presented at the petrol pump to avail the discounted fuel.
The relief scheme will cover motorcycles, rickshaws and vehicles with engine capacities of up to 800cc.
Motorcycle and rickshaw owners will be eligible for up to 20 liters of discounted petrol per month, while owners of vehicles with engine capacities of up to 800cc will be entitled to a maximum of 30 liters per month.
The discounted petrol facility will begin in Islamabad on the night between Monday and Tuesday, while the scheme will be rolled out nationwide on the night between Wednesday and Thursday.
