Islamabad: A video of former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram performing the symbolic “Rami al-Jamarat” ritual during Hajj in a bowling style has gone viral on social media, drawing mixed reactions from users.

In the widely shared video, Wasim Akram can be seen throwing pebbles at the Jamarat in the style of a fast bowler before celebrating as if he had taken a wicket. 

The clip quickly gained attention online, with many users finding the moment entertaining, while others criticized the gesture, saying such actions should be avoided during a sacred religious ritual.

Social media users remained divided, with some praising the legendary cricketer’s enthusiasm and signature style, while others called for greater seriousness and respect during Hajj rituals.

Meanwhile, singer and host Fakhar Alam also shared memorable moments from Hajj on social media. In videos posted from Muzdalifah, Fakhar Alam was seen spending time with actor Bilal Abbas Khan, former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, Wasim Akram and former national cricketer Sharjeel Khan.

Wasim Akram, Misbah-ul-Haq and Sharjeel Khan are among several Pakistani sports personalities who performed Hajj this year.
