Beijing: Typhoon Dolphin has triggered widespread heavy rainfall across parts of China, with Shanghai recording its highest 24-hour rainfall in nearly 150 years, according to Chinese media reports.
Shanghai received 312.9 millimetres of rain within 24 hours, marking the highest daily rainfall recorded in the city since records began in 1872.
The situation was even more severe in some parts of the city, with rainfall at Tangqiao Station reportedly reaching around 400mm, raising concerns over flooding and disruption in several areas.
The typhoon has also brought intense rainfall to other parts of China, prompting local authorities to issue precautionary instructions and urge residents to remain alert as adverse weather conditions continue.
