Rain Abandons Bangladesh-Malaysia Match

The Bangladesh vs Malaysia men’s cricket match at the Asian Games was abandoned on Tuesday due to rain, completing a fourth washout in the tournament.
The match was called off two hours before the scheduled toss, with both teams instructed not to travel to the venue.
Bangladesh advanced to the semi-finals by virtue of their higher seeding and will face Pakistan on October 1.
Earlier, the Sri Lanka vs Nepal fixture was also abandoned because of rain. Sri Lanka progressed to the semi-finals on seeding and will take on India in the last-four stage.

Bangladesh won the gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games after defeating Afghanistan in the final. They also claimed bronze medals in 2014 and 2023. In the 2023 edition, Bangladesh lost to India in the semi-final before defeating Pakistan in the third-place playoff to secure bronze.
