PtI Long March Caravan Reaches Kohat From Karak
News Desk
KOHAT: The participants of the political long march successfully reached Kohat from Karak on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in their journey toward the federal capital.
The caravan, comprising hundreds of vehicles and enthusiastic party workers, was received by local leaders and supporters who showered the participants with rose petals and chanted slogans in favor of their demands.
The arrival of the rally has significantly charged the political atmosphere in the region.
The march, organized to protest against the current economic policies and demand immediate electoral reforms, has been gaining momentum as it passes through various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing the crowd at the Kohat interchange, provincial leaders reiterated their commitment to the peaceful struggle, emphasizing that the movement represents the aspirations of the public.
Local administration in Kohat had finalized stringent security arrangements along the Indus Highway to prevent any untoward incidents, deploying heavy police contingents at key entry and exit points of the city.
This political mobilization comes at a critical juncture when Pakistan is grappling with severe economic challenges and heightened political polarization.
Analysts suggest that such large-scale demonstrations put immense pressure on the coalition government in Islamabad, potentially forcing a dialogue between the opposition and the ruling alliance.
However, the prolonged road closures and security blockades continue to cause significant disruptions to daily life, and the local business community in Kohat has expressed concerns over potential supply chain disruptions.
Following a brief stopover in Kohat for refreshments and addresses by key leadership, the caravan is scheduled to resume its journey toward Peshawar before making its final push toward Islamabad.
The local administration remains on high alert, with emergency services and traffic police working round the clock to manage the flow of traffic and ensure public safety on the main highways.
