PM Shehbaz for Immediate Action Against Rising Terrorism in KP

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the urgent need to combat rising terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during a meeting with Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister stated that the escalating violence in the region ‘must be stopped at any cost.’

In a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Shehbaz acknowledged the sacrifices made by the people of KP in the fight against terrorism. He expressed a desire for KP to develop in line with other regions of the country, highlighting the government’s commitment to ensuring safety and stability in the area.

The discussion also covered various issues concerning Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan, and KP, reflecting the government’s broader focus on regional development and security. The Prime Minister’s remarks come at a time when security concerns are paramount for citizens and local governance.

Moving forward, the government is expected to implement new strategies aimed at enhancing security measures in KP, with further consultations planned between federal and provincial authorities to address the ongoing challenges posed by terrorism.
