ISLAMABAD: The Carriage Factory Islamabad has successfully manufactured and readied two state-of-the-art passenger trains, the Karakoram Express and the Jinnah Peoples Train, equipped with modern travel amenities to enhance passenger comfort and safety across the national rail network.
Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi inspected the newly upgraded rake during a detailed visit to the Carriage Factory in Islamabad, where he was briefed on the technical specifications and interior enhancements.
Officials confirmed that the upgraded rake of the Karakoram Express has already been dispatched successfully from the factory to Lahore.
The induction of these modern rakes marks a significant step forward in Pakistan Railways’ ongoing efforts to revitalize public transport infrastructure and improve service delivery for commuters.
The initiative aims to provide affordable yet high-standard travel options, addressing long-standing public grievances regarding train punctuality, cleanliness, and onboard facilities.
Following the successful dispatch of the Karakoram Express, railway authorities are scheduled to finalize operational schedules and routes for the Jinnah Peoples Train. Further technical assessments and trial runs will be conducted in the coming days before opening the newly minted coaches for regular commercial operations.
