ISLAMABAD: Opposition leaders gathered on Wednesday at the residence of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to discuss the imposition of emergency and governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, among other pressing issues.
A statement released by the JUI-F in the evening confirmed the attendance of key figures, including Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, who represent the National Assembly and Senate respectively, alongside prominent leaders from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The meeting aimed to address the current political climate in KP, particularly the implications of the emergency measures.
This gathering signifies a critical moment for the opposition alliance, Tehreek-i-Tahafuz-i-Ayin-i-Pakistan (TTAP), led by Achakzai, as it seeks to unify various factions against the government’s recent decisions.
The discussions are expected to have significant ramifications for the political landscape in Pakistan, potentially galvanizing public sentiment and mobilizing support for a coordinated response.
Looking ahead, the opposition plans to convene a multi-party conference (MPC) to further strategize their approach to the ongoing crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This upcoming conference is anticipated to be a pivotal step in consolidating opposition efforts and addressing the concerns of citizens affected by the political turmoil.
