Motorola Unveils Signature 27 With Bang & Olufsen Audio

Snapdragon: Motorola has unveiled the Signature 27, the second-generation flagship in its ultra-premium smartphone family, at the Snapdragon Summit, introducing a device built around next-generation processing, artificial intelligence, advanced cameras and a redesigned thermal system.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 mobile platform and becomes the latest addition to Motorola’s premium Signature lineup.
The company has also introduced a new naming convention for the series. From this generation onward, the final two digits of the model name will refer to the upcoming year, creating a common naming system for future Signature smartphones.
Performance Meets Advanced Cooling
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 serves as the core of the Signature 27, bringing processing capabilities designed for on-device artificial intelligence, gaming, photography and connectivity.
Motorola has equipped the handset with six antennas designed to improve download speeds and support cloud-based AI applications.
To maintain performance during demanding workloads, the smartphone features Motorola’s ArcticMesh cooling system. The technology combines thermal gel infused with diamond material, liquid metal, copper mesh and a redesigned 3D vapor chamber.
Motorola says the new vapor chamber is 40 percent larger than the one used in the previous generation. The company says the system is designed to help manage heat during extended AI workloads, gaming sessions and video recording or playback.
The Signature 27 is also set to receive seven years of operating-system updates, extending the software support period for the premium device.
Gemini Brings AI Beyond Chatbot
Artificial intelligence is central to Motorola’s new flagship, with the Signature 27 integrating Google’s Gemini capabilities for a range of tasks, including planning activities, making reservations, searching for tickets and creating content.
One of the highlighted features is Gemini Omni, which can use text prompts, photographs or existing videos to create new audiovisual content.
The phone will also integrate Google’s Lyria technology for generating personalized music and soundtracks.
Motorola’s approach is to position AI as more than a tool for answering questions. The company is seeking to make generative AI part of everyday smartphone use, allowing users to create content and initiate tasks through different forms of input.
50MP Main Camera, 200MP Periscope Telephoto
Photography is another major focus of the Signature 27, which combines high-resolution sensors with AI-powered image and video processing.
The main camera uses Sony’s 50-megapixel LYTIA 910 sensor, while the periscope telephoto camera features a 200-megapixel sensor.
For video recording, Motorola has introduced its Video Enhancement Engine, which uses AI to analyze scenes in real time and adjust color tones while footage is being captured.
According to Motorola, the technology is designed to perform across a range of lighting conditions, including low-light environments, presentations and sunset scenes.
Image stabilization combines Qualcomm Technologies’ stabilization technology with the phone’s 3.5-degree OIS system, designed to improve stability during movement, walking and handheld video recording.
Motorola has described the camera system presented at the Snapdragon Summit as a preview of the Signature 27’s capabilities, suggesting that additional photography and imaging details will be announced later.
First Motorola Smartphone With Bang & Olufsen Audio
The Signature 27 will also mark another first for Motorola: it is the company’s first smartphone to feature “Audio by Bang & Olufsen.”
The audio system comes from a newly announced multi-year partnership between Motorola and Danish audio company Bang & Olufsen.
The collaboration brings together Motorola’s smartphone engineering with Bang & Olufsen’s expertise in audio and design. The companies say the partnership will extend across the device’s sound experience, hardware integration and design identity.
Premium Materials, Two Distinct Finishes
The Signature 27 retains the visual identity of Motorola’s Signature family while introducing different materials and textures across its finishes.
The phone features an aluminum frame with contoured edges, while the camera housing combines ceramic with brushed aluminum.
Motorola has announced two finishes for the device.
The PANTONE Coal Smoke version features what the company calls Tactical Weave, a texture inspired by automotive engineering and high-performance apparel. Beyond its appearance, the material is designed to improve grip while contributing to durability and resistance.
The PANTONE Capulet Green variant uses a finish inspired by brushed fabric. Motorola says its softer surface draws on references from premium fashion and interior design.

Although Motorola has provided an early look at the Signature 27, the company has not yet disclosed the phone’s complete specifications.
Further details about features, configurations and user experiences are expected to be announced ahead of the smartphone’s commercial launch.
