Main Suspect Killed in Alleged Encounter in Sargodha Murder Case

Sargodha: Arsalan, the main suspect in the alleged rape and murder of seven-year-old Mantha, was killed in an alleged police encounter, according to police officials.
The victim, a second-grade student, had left her home a few days ago to buy food items from a nearby shop but did not return.
According to her family, they began searching for the child after she went missing. Her body was later found in a room above the shop.
The incident sparked widespread anger and concern among residents of the area.
Police sources said the girl was allegedly lured away by employees working at the shop.
On the instructions of District Police Officer (DPO) Sohaib Ashraf, a six-member investigation team was formed to trace and arrest the suspects. The team conducted raids at various locations as part of the investigation.
Police had earlier pledged to bring those responsible to justice and ensure a thorough investigation into the case.
During the investigation, police detained shop owner Hanif, his son, and several other suspects for questioning. Authorities also reviewed the criminal record of the prime suspect, Arsalan.
According to police, Arsalan was killed during an alleged encounter.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family remains in mourning following the death of their daughter. The incident has cast a pall over the area.
Funeral prayers for Mantha were offered late at night, after which she was laid to rest in the main graveyard of Sargodha. A large number of relatives, residents, and community members attended the funeral.
Mourners expressed grief over the killing of the young girl and called for justice in the case.
