ITP issues safety advisory amid heavy rain

Islamabad: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a road safety advisory as heavy rain continues in the federal capital, warning motorists about waterlogging and reduced traffic flow on several roads.
The traffic police advised drivers and motorcyclists to reduce their speed during rainfall and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead to avoid collisions on wet roads.
Motorists have also been urged to use fog lights, remain within their lanes and use side mirrors and indicators when changing direction. Drivers should also ensure that seat belts are fastened while travelling.
Motorcyclists have been advised to wear helmets and use the extreme left lane while riding during rainy conditions.
According to Islamabad Traffic Police, its personnel have been deployed on roads across the capital to facilitate traffic movement and guide citizens during the adverse weather.
Citizens can obtain traffic updates and safety information through the Islamabad Traffic Police WhatsApp channel, Islamabad Police’s social media platforms and ITP FM 92.4.
