Hazara Division Welcomes Refreshing Rainfall, Snowfall

News Desk

Islamabad: A fresh bout of rain hit low-lying areas, while upper regions of Hazara division experienced snowfall starting on Sunday, leading to a drop in temperature.

The high-altitude areas like Kaghan, Siren, and Konsh valleys witnessed snowfall throughout the day, blocking roads connecting to Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road and Shinkiari-Goscha Road, causing inconvenience for local commuters.

Bajaur experienced rain and snowfall in hilly areas, leading to a cold Sunday.

Residents reported that the precipitation started late Saturday night and continued until Sunday night, particularly affecting hilly areas like Mamond, Nawagai, and Salarzai tehsils, causing a significant drop in temperature.

Although farmers welcomed the rain, anticipating positive effects on crop yields, the residents of Khar expressed grievances about the suspension of electricity supply since Saturday night.

In Swabi, the first winter rain on Sunday broke a prolonged dry spell, bringing relief to farmers as it positively impacted the critical wheat crop at its current stage.

The Meteorological Office predicted more rainfall for Monday and Tuesday. However, the rain also led to the suspension of electricity supply in several areas, a recurring issue whenever rain falls, according to frustrated consumers.
