Islamabad: Canada defeated South Africa 1-0 in the Round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup to secure a place in the Round of 16.
With the victory, Canada became the first team to qualify for the pre-quarterfinals of the tournament. It also marks the first time in the country’s history that the Canadian team has reached the Round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup.
Pakistan Cricket Team to Leave for West Indies on July 13
Pakistan’s national cricket team, under the guidance of head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed, will report to Islamabad on July 8 before departing for the West Indies on July 13 for a two-Test series.
The national red-ball team’s training camp is currently underway in Lahore and is expected to conclude on July 2.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is likely to announce a single 17-member squad for the tours of the West Indies and England.
