FIA Arrests Suspect in Australia Visa Fraud Case

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a suspect accused of defrauding a complainant of Rs277,635 on the promise of arranging an Australian visa.
According to the FIA, the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Islamabad took action against the suspect after completing an inquiry registered as No. 644/2024.
The investigation found that the accused allegedly received Rs277,635 from the complainant on the pretext of arranging a visa for Australia but neither provided the promised visa nor returned the money.
The FIA said the full amount allegedly received from the complainant was recovered from the suspect following his arrest.
The agency added that the involvement of other individuals, if any, would be determined as the investigation progresses.
Inspector Mohammad Abdullah Kayani is conducting the investigation.
The FIA Islamabad Zone reiterated that action would be taken against individuals involved in visa fraud and human trafficking and that those found responsible would be brought to justice.
