Explosion in Bannu Kills Seven, Injures Three

Bannu: At least seven people were killed and three others injured in an explosion in the Markah Bera area of Bannu district.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Yasir Afridi, the explosion struck a passenger van and a car. The van was traveling from Hathikhel village to Bannu when the blast occurred.
The DPO said that five passengers in the van and two people in the car lost their lives, while three others sustained injuries.
The bodies and injured were shifted to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Teaching Hospital for medical treatment and further procedures.
Preliminary investigations suggest that explosive material had been planted on the roadside. Police have launched an investigation to determine the nature of the attack and identify those responsible.
In a separate incident on June 1st, unknown individuals blew up a gas pipeline using explosive material in the Merian area of Bannu during the night.
According to police, the explosion disrupted gas supply to several cities in Punjab. Authorities have begun repair work while investigations are underway to trace those involved.
Meanwhile, an explosive device detonated on Kohat Road in Peshawar. Police said no casualties or property damage were reported in the incident.
Police and Bomb Disposal Unit teams reached the site and collected evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
