Election Staff to Vote Early Ahead of AJK Polls

Mirpur: Government employees assigned election duties for Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) general elections will cast their votes a week before polling day under a special voting arrangement, the AJK Election Commission announced on Friday.
The advance voting for election staff will take place on July 20 at the offices of the respective returning officers across all constituencies, enabling officials to exercise their right to vote before they are engaged in election responsibilities on polling day.
AJK is scheduled to hold its general elections on July 27, with the Election Commission finalizing administrative and logistical preparations to ensure a smooth electoral process.
According to the Election Commission spokesperson, returning officers will oversee the advance polling for government employees deployed on election duty.
The Commission has directed all relevant authorities to complete necessary arrangements well ahead of time, reaffirming its commitment to conducting the elections in a transparent, peaceful and fair manner.
