Dry Weather To Persist In Southern Parts Of Country, KP

Islamabad/Peshawar: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted hot and dry weather conditions in southern parts of country. Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) Peshawar on Friday predicted that cold and dry weather is expected in most districts of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Pakistan’s Southern Areas

PMD has cautioned the populace that the country’s southern areas (Sindh, Balochistan and south Punjab) are likely to see unusually hot and dry weather conditions for the next two to three days. Day temperatures are likely to remain 04-06°Cabove normal. The synoptic condition indicated that continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country.

Met Office stated that in most plain areas of the country, Saturday is forecast to be generally dry; while upper parts are expected to be cold and partially cloudy. In isolated areas of upper KP and Gilgit-Baltistan, light rain or light snow is likely to occur. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded are Kalam -05°C, Gupis -04, Leh -03 and Bagrote -02°C.

Cold, dry weather in most KP

The RMC has forecasted very cold and partly cloudy weather in upper districts. Isolated light rain and drizzle with light snowfall over the hills are likely to occur over Chitral, Dir, Kalam and Swat, and Kohistan districts.

During the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather occurred over most districts of the province, while very cold in upper districts and hilly areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at different stations of KP are as follows:

The minimum temperature recorded in the province is-05 C in Kalam.
