Criminal Proceedings Initiated Against 100 NADRA Employees

News Desk

ISLAMABAD: The Senate has initiated criminal proceedings against 100 employees of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), as announced by Senator Talal Chaudhry during a recent session.

This significant move comes amid ongoing discussions regarding NADRA’s operations, passport fees, and issues faced by Pakistanis living abroad.

During the Senate meeting, Chaudhry, a prominent member of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), highlighted the need for accountability within NADRA, emphasizing that the actions of these employees have raised serious concerns.

He stated, “We cannot overlook the misconduct that has been reported, and it is imperative that we take decisive action to restore public trust in our institutions.”

The initiation of these proceedings is expected to have broader implications for governance and public service in Pakistan. It underscores the government’s commitment to tackling corruption and ensuring that public institutions operate with integrity.

This development may also influence public perception of NADRA, which plays a crucial role in identity verification and electoral processes.

Looking ahead, further investigations are anticipated, and the Senate plans to monitor the situation closely. Additional sessions are expected to address the outcomes of these proceedings and any necessary reforms within NADRA to prevent future misconduct.
