Camels’ Ribs Broken in Alleged Attack Over Eating Mulberries

Chiniot: An alleged incident of animal cruelty has come to light in Chiniot, where a landowner is accused of attacking camels with axes after they entered farmland and ate mulberries.

According to the camel owners, the accused allegedly struck the animals on their necks and stomachs, leaving them seriously injured. They claimed that the attack was so severe that some of the camels suffered broken ribs.

The victims said they approached the office of the Regional Police Officer (RPO) after the alleged attackers were not arrested and brought the injured camels with them to draw attention to the matter.

They further alleged that police had failed to take action against the suspects. The victims also raised concerns over the valuation of the animals recorded in the case, saying the total value of the camels had been stated as only Rs150,000.

“Even two goats cannot be bought for Rs150,000,” the victims said, questioning the assessment of the camels’ actual worth.

The victims have appealed to authorities to take action against those responsible for the alleged attack and ensure that the camels are properly valued.

They also called for a fair investigation into the incident and legal action against anyone found responsible for harming the animals.
