Calligraphy Exhibition Showcases Art at Islamabad’s F-9 Gallery

Islamabad: A unique calligraphy exhibition featuring mirror-engraved portraits by renowned artist Shabana Manzoor was held at the Art Gallery in F-9 Park, attracting artists, art enthusiasts and public figures.

The exhibition was inaugurated by CDA Member Finance Rana Shakeel Ahmed, while CDA officials, prominent artists and a large number of visitors attended the opening ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Rana Shakeel said art was a powerful medium to express emotions and ideas, while artists served as ambassadors of peace and cultural harmony. He stressed the need to encourage artists and provide them with platforms to showcase their creative work.

He said the Capital Development Authority (CDA) was utilizing available resources to promote art and culture in Islamabad, adding that the renovated gallery was aimed at providing opportunities for artists and engaging citizens with creative activities.

The F-9 Park Art Gallery was opened by CDA about a month ago after the renovation of the building. Officials said the facility was established to support the local artist community and promote cultural activities in the capital.

Rana Shakeel shared that there had initially been a proposal to convert the building into a restaurant, but authorities later decided to transform it into an art gallery to encourage art lovers and provide a dedicated space for exhibitions.

The gallery also features information about the history and development of Islamabad, while artists from the capital are part of an informal advisory group supporting the centre’s activities.

The exhibition received appreciation from visitors, with participants praising the initiative as a positive step towards promoting calligraphy and contemporary art in the federal capital.
