DURBAN: South Africa secured a comprehensive 67-run victory over Australia in the opening One-Day International at Kingsmead on Thursday, propelled by a stellar maiden century from Matthew Breetzke and a devastating bowling spell by left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj.
After being sent into bat, South Africa posted a formidable 297 for eight, anchored by Breetzke’s composed 112 and a late, explosive 75 off just a handful of deliveries by all-rounder Marco Jansen.
