Bilawal for End to New Province Discussions in Sindh

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday urged a definitive halt to discussions surrounding the establishment of new provinces in the country.

Speaking to the media at Spencer Eye Hospital in Karachi’s Lyari alongside Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Bilawal emphasized the need to respect the decisions made by the people of Sindh.

Addressing concerns about alleged pressure on the PPP regarding the creation of new administrative units and the potential rollback of the 18th Amendment, Bilawal stated, “The people of Sindh and their elected representatives have presented their decision, and now we should put a full stop to this conversation.”

His remarks reflect the party’s firm stance on maintaining the current provincial structure amid ongoing debates.

This declaration comes at a time when discussions about administrative reorganization have gained traction, raising questions about the implications for governance and regional representation.

Bilawal’s call to cease these discussions aims to stabilize the political landscape in Sindh, where the PPP has historically held significant influence.

Looking ahead, the PPP is expected to continue advocating for the rights and interests of Sindh’s populace, while further discussions on provincial matters may arise in future political forums.

The party’s leadership is likely to focus on consolidating its position and addressing the concerns of its constituents in the coming months.
