Bahawalpur: Heavy smog continued gripping Bahawalpur, decreasing visibility by 50 percent on Tuesday.

The running of tens of thousands of vehicles, including illegal vehicles, has pushed Bahawalpur into the grip of heavy smog which has been causing difficulties for people who have already been affected by respiratory diseases, especially asthma.

Health Professional Dr Amir suggested that people must wear masks and dark glasses to save them from the smog hazards.

Most of the people affected by smog are complaining of suffocation and throat itching, in addition to itching in the eyes, added Dr Amir.

Thousands of vehicles without number plates, especially motorcycles, used to ply on the main city roads of Bahawalpur, emitting smoke and increasing the smog level.

The smog level in Bahawalpur can be decreased if the district administration takes action to stop illegal vehicles and younger drivers from bringing their vehicles on the roads.
