Sexual Assault Survivor Appeals CM Naqvi for Justice Against Influential perpetrators
News Desk
Sargodha: A sexual assault survivor has appealed to Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Shariq Kamal Siddiqui, seeking justice against influential perpetrators.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, a 21-year-old survivor of sexual assault in Sargodha, along with her mother, said that she belongs to a poor family and her father has died, while the perpetrators are not only threatening her but also using their influence on the police to exclude the kidnapping and assault sections included in the FIR.
It is worth mentioning that the Bhagtanwala police recovered the survivor after a report filed by her mother. The police also registered a case against the suspected men, but the victim alleged that they were not taking action against them due to their influence.
The girl was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted in the jurisdiction of Bhagtanwala police station.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the survivor was working with Amjad of the same locality at an office in Bhagtanwala for the last three years.
She alleged that on September 8, the suspected man, along with his three accomplices, identified as Muhammad Irfan, Shahid Imran, and Ali Asghar, kidnapped her from the office and assaulted her at gunpoint for four consecutive days.
The police also registered a case against the suspected men, but the victim alleged that they were not taking action against them due to their influence.
Even more surprising was when thepenpk.com contacted the number listed on the Magtanwala police station’s website for verification, a woman from Karachi answered, stating that the contact number belonged to an individual, not the police station.
