Unregistered Restaurants Face Crackdown from Dec 1

Islamabad: The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) has set November 30 as the final deadline for all restaurants and food outlets in the federal capital to complete their registration, announcing a citywide crackdown against unregistered establishments starting December 1.
Speaking to APP on Sunday, Deputy Director Operations of the IFA, Dr. Tahira Siddique, said that the authority will initiate a strict enforcement drive from December 1 to identify and take action against unregistered food businesses operating across Islamabad.
She warned that any restaurant or food outlet continuing operations without valid registration after the deadline will face sealing and heavy fines. “Daily inspections will begin from December 1 to verify registration and ensure adherence to food safety standards,” she added.
Inspection teams have been instructed to take immediate action against violators and ensure strict compliance with hygiene and safety regulations outlined by the IFA.
Dr. Tahira urged all restaurant and food point owners to complete their registration before the deadline to avoid penalties or business closures.
She emphasized that the registration campaign aims to improve public health standards by ensuring all eateries operate under safe, hygienic, and regulated conditions. The IFA, she added, will continue regular inspections and enforcement activities to maintain compliance and protect consumers’ health across Islamabad’s hospitality sector.
