Tragic Incident: Umpire Killed For Signalling ‘No Ball’

India: During a cricket match in the city of Cuttack, in the state of Odisha. India, the player lost his temper when the umpire gave a ‘no ball’ and killed the umpire with a knife.

The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Lucky Rawat, who was stabbed to death by a man named Smriti Ranjan Rawat after an argument over the gesture of ‘no ball’. After which, the people nearby caught the accused and handed him over to the police.

Meanwhile, the injured umpire was taken to the hospital, but he could not survive.

According to reports, this match was being played between two teams, Brahmapur and Shankarpur.

After the incident, tension spread in the area, and police forces were deployed to avoid any untoward incidents. Police have started a further investigation into the incident.

A tragic incident occurred in Haripur where a 25-year-old youth Raja Waqqas, son of the late Muhammad Aslam, was killed by lightning on Monday.

Upon receiving the report, local residents, along with teams from Rescue 1122 and the police, immediately rushed to the scene. The authorities have launched an investigation into the incident while the community mourns the loss of the young life.

Meanwhile the rain that lashed different parts of Haripur from Monday morning continued intermittently till evening causing heavy flooding in the rainwater courses.
