Terrorists Commander Killed in Balochistan Operation
News Desk
QUETTA: Security forces eliminated a high-profile commander belonging to the outlawed Fitna al-Khawarij outfit during a targeted intelligence-based operation conducted in Balochistan on Monday.
The operation, launched on the back of credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists planning subversive activities in the province, culminated in an intense gun battle that resulted in the neutralisation of the key operative alongside the confiscation of advanced weaponry and communication gear.
According to military and local security officials, the troops effectively cordoned off the identified hideout before engaging the militants in heavy gunfire.
The deceased commander was reportedly involved in orchestrating multiple terror strikes targeting civilian infrastructure, law enforcement agencies, and development projects across the region.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosives recovered from the site confirmed that the group was actively preparing to execute high-impact sabotage attempts in surrounding districts.
The successful operation marks another significant blow to militant networks attempting to derail peace and destabilise strategic socioeconomic corridors in Balochistan.
In recent months, Pakistan has witnessed an uptick in targeted operations as security forces step up proactive counter-terrorism efforts against Fitna al-Khawarij and allied hostile networks operating from cross-border sanctuaries.
Local civic leaders and business communities have voiced strong support for the sustained enforcement drive, noting that sustained peace remains imperative for provincial prosperity and commercial investment.
Meanwhile, security personnel have initiated a comprehensive sanitisation operation in the peripheral sectors to neutralise any remaining facilitators or sleeper cells affiliated with the network.
Military authorities reaffirmed their resolve to eradicate terrorism in all its manifestations, stating that the armed forces and law enforcement agencies remain steadfast in defending the sovereignty and security of the motherland against foreign-sponsored extremism.
