Sindh Launches 49 Digital Classrooms for Children

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has formally inaugurated 49 advanced digital classrooms, 20 satellite schools, and a specialized sign language teacher training program aimed at transforming special education across the province.
The comprehensive initiative seeks to bridge the educational divide for specially-abled children by integrating modern technology into learning environments.
Speaking at a high-profile special education ceremony, CM Murad Ali Shah detailed the scope of the project, highlighting that the 49 digital classrooms have been successfully established across 37 special education and rehabilitation centers in Sindh.
He emphasized that the provincial administration remains firmly committed to empowering marginalized segments of society through inclusive education, state-of-the-art pedagogical tools, and trained professionals equipped to teach hearing-impaired students.
The integration of digital infrastructure and satellite campuses in remote areas marks a pivotal shift in Pakistan’s special education landscape, addressing long-standing infrastructural deficits.
Educational experts note that providing digitized learning modules and specialized sign language instruction will significantly improve cognitive development, literacy rates, and long-term vocational prospects for thousands of differently-abled students who previously lacked access to adequate academic resources.
Following the successful rollout of the initial phase, the Sindh government plans to further expand the rehabilitation and digital networks to tier-two cities and rural districts. Monitoring committees have also been established to evaluate the performance of the newly launched satellite schools and ensure that the teacher training programs meet international standards of special needs instruction.
