Sindh Govt Announces Swimming Pools Across All Divisions

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced plans to construct state-of-the-art swimming pools equipped with modern technology across all administrative divisions of the province.
The announcement was made by Sindh Minister for Sports, Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar, while addressing the closing ceremony of the 32nd Sindh Women Swimming Championship held at the Karachi Club on Sunday.
Highlighting the administration’s commitment to youth development and athletic infrastructure, Minister Mahar stated that the newly proposed facilities will meet international standards to nurture local talent.
He emphasized that expanding sports infrastructure beyond major urban centers is crucial for discovering and grooming promising athletes from remote districts across the province.
The initiative is expected to significantly boost competitive sports in Sindh, providing safe, accessible, and high-tech training environments for both male and female athletes.
Sports analysts view the move as a timely intervention to revive aquatic disciplines and encourage healthier, more active lifestyles among the younger demographic in the region.
Following this announcement, the Sports Department is slated to finalize technical feasibility reports and site allocations in the coming weeks. Construction timelines and budgetary allocations for the division-wide swimming pool project are expected to be unveiled in the upcoming provincial development review.
