Rawalpindi: Security forces have carried out an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Kharan district, killing seven militants and injuring several others, according to security sources.

The operation was conducted in the Lajay area after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants in the region. Security forces targeted what sources described as militant hideouts during the operation.

According to security sources, the militants killed in the operation were allegedly linked to a range of violent activities in Kharan and Lajay, including suicide attacks, extortion, kidnapping and targeted killings.

The operation also focused on disrupting the group’s infrastructure. Security personnel recovered modern weapons and a significant quantity of ammunition from the targeted locations, along with military equipment, two vehicles and a motorcycle.

Several militant hideouts were also destroyed during the operation, according to the sources.

The latest action comes as security forces continue counterterrorism operations in Balochistan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3. Authorities say the ongoing campaign is aimed at dismantling militant networks, their operational capabilities and support infrastructure in the province.

The security sources said operations would continue on the basis of intelligence information to prevent further militant attacks and strengthen security in affected areas.
