Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has lodged FIRs against four illegal housing schemes, said an RDA spokesman on Saturday.

He informed me that the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of RDA has initiated legal action by lodging FIRs against the owners of four illegal housing schemes.

The individuals named in the FIRs include Malik Tariq, Qazi Naveed, Sharif Khan, Sajid Chaudhry, Sajid Munir, Sardar Maqsood Khan, Sardar Awais, Chaudhry Seemab, and Yaoob, and the FIRs were filed at Mandra police station in Tehsil Gujar Khan.

The FIRs were registered against the following illegal housing schemes: Kashmir View Residencia, Phase-I and II in Mouza Sanghori Satto; GB Valley in Mouza Singhori Satto; Natha Dolal, Sain Singhori in Mouza Singhori; and Pak Kashmir Housing Project in Mouza Pothi Bijnyal at Mandra-Chakwal Road in Tehsil Gujar Khan.

Prior to the filing of FIRs, the MP&TE Directorate issued notices to the identified illegal housing schemes. The spokesman emphasized that launching housing schemes, apartment projects, or commercial buildings within the controlled area of RDA without a NoC (No Objection Certificate) and approval is deemed illegal.

Any form of advertisement, marketing, or development associated with such projects is also considered illegal. The RDA urged citizens to refrain from investing in illegal housing projects and advised them to verify the status of projects on the official RDA website.

The Director-General (DG) directed the MP&TE Directorate to enforce strict measures against illegal and unauthorized housing schemes, construction activities, commercial endeavors, booking offices, and encroachments without any discrimination.
