Rawalpindi Hit Hardest with 74 New Dengue Cases

Rawalpindi: Dengue cases are rising in Punjab, with 86 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The majority of these cases—74—were identified in Rawalpindi, while Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Attock, and Mianwali each reported two cases.

Additionally, one case each was recorded in Lahore, Kasur, Chakwal, and Sahiwal.

Health department sources indicate that the total number of dengue cases has now reached 1,044, following the reporting of 377 new cases across the province.

A spokesperson for the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department assured that hospitals are fully equipped with the necessary medicines and treatments to combat the virus.

In response to the surge, the Health Department has issued an advisory urging citizens to maintain clean and dry environments to prevent mosquito breeding. They are calling for public cooperation with health teams actively working to control the outbreak.

A free helpline (1033) has also been established for those seeking treatment or information, as well as for reporting dengue-related complaints. Health officials emphasized the importance of vigilance and proactive measures to curb the spread of dengue across Punjab.
