Pak Army Destroys Ammunition Depots in Paktika

Security forces have stepped up operations against militant networks and illegal arms trafficking in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with authorities reporting the destruction of suspected militant facilities and the seizure of a large weapons cache.

According to security sources, Pakistan Army targeted an Afghan Taliban post near Shawal in South Waziristan, destroying the position with explosives and forcing militants linked to Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khwarij to abandon the area.

The operation was part of ongoing actions under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, which officials said would continue until the assigned objectives are achieved.

Separately, Kohat police foiled an alleged arms smuggling attempt at an Indus Highway checkpoint, recovering a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition from a suspicious vehicle.

District Police Officer Shehbaz Elahi said police officials searched the vehicle after intercepting it and found concealed compartments containing 19 Kalashnikov rifles, 22 pistols, nine 9mm pistols, 44 magazines and more than 2,500 rounds of ammunition.

Two suspects, identified as Armanullah and Yaseen-ur-Rehman from Bannu, were arrested during the operation.

Authorities said the actions are part of broader efforts to disrupt militant activity, prevent illegal weapons movement and strengthen security across the region.
