Rawalpindi: The number of confirmed dengue cases in Rawalpindi is rapidly increasing, with the total now reaching 82, health sources said on Monday.
Residents have voiced concerns that anti-dengue teams are not conducting spray campaigns in various areas, while the local administration is focused on imposing fines rather than taking preventive actions.
This year, authorities have registered 1,758 FIRs as part of anti-dengue activities. Additionally, 523 locations have been sealed, 1,717 challans issued, and fines totaling Rs7.95 million have been collected.
With the dengue season now at its peak, the Additional Director of the Livestock Rawalpindi Office has reinstated anti-dengue training.
A meeting was held yesterday (Sunday) to review measures for enhancing the effectiveness of anti-dengue efforts, followed by training sessions for focal persons and personnel to bolster their response to the outbreak.
