Quetta Authorities Fast-Track Registration of 96 Seminaries

News Desk

QUETTA: Quetta Division Commissioner Zeeshan Lashari has ordered the swift registration of 96 unregistered religious seminaries in the region, emphasizing the need to enhance public education and health services across the division.

During a recent meeting of the Divisional Monitoring Committee, which included deputy commissioners and representatives from law enforcement and federal agencies, Lashari directed the Special Branch to provide updated geographic details for the seminaries.

He also instructed the Balochistan Charity Registration Authority to expedite the registration process, highlighting the importance of formalizing these institutions.

This initiative is seen as a crucial step towards improving educational standards and ensuring better oversight of religious seminaries, which have been under scrutiny for their role in society.

The meeting also reviewed counterterrorism measures, focusing on suspect profiling and intelligence coordination, with officials noting that records of 120 individuals listed under the Fourth Schedule had been uploaded to the BISA tracking dashboard.

Looking ahead, the authorities plan to continue monitoring the registration process closely and will convene further meetings to assess the progress of these initiatives.

This move is expected to foster greater accountability and transparency within the educational sector in Quetta.
