Qatar Offers Free Visa-on-Arrival to Pakistanis: Who Is Eligible?

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani citizens planning to travel to Qatar can benefit from a free tourist visa-on-arrival facility, allowing them to enter the country without obtaining a visa in advance, provided they meet the specified eligibility requirements.
According to Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, Pakistani passport holders are eligible for a free visa-on-arrival for a maximum period of 30 days. However, applicants must fulfil certain conditions to avail themselves of this facility.
As per the ministry’s official website, the visa is issued upon arrival and is valid for up to 30 days. Its duration may also depend on the length of the traveller’s confirmed hotel reservation.
Under the eligibility criteria, Pakistani travellers must hold a passport with at least three months of validity remaining from the date of arrival in Qatar. They are also required to present a confirmed return ticket.
A confirmed hotel reservation is another mandatory requirement. However, Qatar has specified that hotel bookings must be made exclusively through its official tourism platform, Discover Qatar. Reservations made through other websites or online travel agencies will not be accepted for this visa facility.
Additionally, Pakistani visitors must obtain health insurance from an approved insurance provider recognised by Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health.
The Ministry of Interior has clarified that travellers must fulfil all the stipulated requirements to qualify for the free visa-on-arrival. Failure to provide the required documents or meet any of the conditions may result in the visa being denied.
The facility is separate from Qatar’s other visa-free entry arrangements and tourist visa programmes. Therefore, Pakistani citizens are advised to carefully review the applicable requirements and arrange all necessary documents before travelling.
