Punjab Reports 79 New Dengue Cases

Lahore: The Punjab Health Department reported a slight decline in dengue cases, with 79 new infections recorded across the province on Sunday.

Rawalpindi saw the highest number of cases with 65, followed by smaller outbreaks in Chakwal, Sialkot, Lahore, Attock, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Kasur, Chiniot, Gujrat, and Okara.

Since the beginning of 2024, a total of 6,838 dengue cases have been reported in the province. Health officials assured that hospitals are well-stocked with necessary medicines and prepared for increasing patient numbers.

They urged the public to take preventive measures, such as eliminating stagnant water around their homes, to reduce the spread of dengue.

A helpline (1033) has been established for public inquiries and reports on dengue-related matters, with the Health Department continuing to emphasize public cooperation and awareness.
